Browser Extensions Attached to Events

Problem Statement

When there is an error in my application, I commonly would like to know if browser extensions were running in the users browser. Ideally the name of each of those extensions.

useful information for all errors, including hydration errors which might be directly caused by extensions.

Solution Brainstorm

Sentry's SDK captures information about extension being present and attaches that information to the event.

In Chrome at least, it used to be possbile to detect extensions if you know their unique ID:

I'm not convinced this or any other means of detecting extensions is viable long term as Google will work to plug the holes because this can be used to fingerprint devices.
