Fork the plugin (easy button right here on GitHub) and change the line (you can also do it right here on the site with the pencil icon) then commit. Then use your own repository in WP Pusher (or install the ZIP) instead of the official one.

Not the ideal solution, but it worked for me the plugin author hasn't touched this in years.
