• JS API takes an array where the last item is the target, however this can be confusing for external users and it might be better to keep source as a separate array and target as another argument... or we could also move everything into the options argument.
• replace tinyglobby by native code fs.glob (stable in Node 24)
• we could return a Promise instead of void for the JS API

I agree with you that the JS API could be improved and made less confusing.

It would be nice if you could provide both function signatures to start with. This would avoid breaking code for new users who move from copyfiles. Maybe deprecate the old signature, and remove it after a couple of years.

Thanks but no, I'm not interested at all to keep 2 different approaches, that would only increase the project size and overcomplicate things. When I am ready to go with this change it will be a document breaking change and it will be a major version. There's barely any user at this point anyway, so there's no real reasons to keep duplicate and similar code (as long as it's document it should be fine)
