copilot-cli promises to monitor a long job but doesn't do this #294

Describe the bug

I asked copilot CLI to install 5 different versions of gcc.
Copilot started the jobs, decided that they will last for many hours, and told me to wait for them myself.
The jobs failed for different reasons.

Then I asked it to monitor jobs every 5 minutes.

Copilot said that it will do this:

Image but it never did. Nothing happened at the time when it promised to check and report.

This happened again and again.

It finds that the jobs died for some reason, and instead of fixing them it just restarts them and they die again.

Is anything broken in Copilot that scheduled (promised) jobs aren't working?

How to make Copilot to just watch the jobs continuously?

When the jobs are small and it monitors them in real time it does a good job fixing them if needed.
