Following a suggestion leads to an unexpected message

The start of Step 3 says Great job finding the duplicate issue! Feel free to close the other issue as a duplicate of this one, but I'll leave it up to you. I did that with a comment and got a comment back on the issue that said this:

You should probably account for someone closing the issue as suggested.

Hi @amyschoen! I know this happened a while ago. To better understand this and how to best address it, could you help clarify a few things?

• Did you comment, then close? Or, did you use the "comment and close" button?
• Did the bot also provide the correct instructions, or did this error happen and then block you from completing the course?

Here's why I ask: The currently config uses "else" logic to formulate this response. If a issue comment is posted, the gate will check 1️⃣ that the issue is titled "Fix the sidebar", and 2️⃣ the comment includes "312f87". I would assume that you would see this error only when those two criteria aren't met, regardless of if an issue is closed. 🤔

But, if that assumption is in correct, it would be interesting to know what is allowing either:

• that gate to trigger the error message and move the course forward OR
• the step to be triggered by a different event

It's been forever, but it does look like I still have the repo with this run through of the class in my test instance. I see an issue titled Congratulations!, so it looks like this didn't prevent course completion.

I think this is the part it's specifically complaining about.

What I'm seeing might actually be a slightly different issue. The instructions say to copy at least the first 6 characters of the SHA. Looks like I accidentally grabbed 7, but that still is following instructions. The comment back appears to be looking for the full SHA.
