Bonjour,

Je rencontre un problème avec l’agent GLPI 1.15 concernant l’importation d’un périphérique USB : Passport Reader Osmond (VendorID 1B52, ProductID 4211).
Le périphérique apparaît dans les données remontées par l’agent, mais ne se crée pas dans GLPI et ne s’appaire pas, même après création manuelle.

🔍 Problème observé

Le périphérique USB est bien remonté dans les sections du XML inventorié.

Malgré cela, dans GLPI 11.0.0 :

le périphérique n’apparaît pas dans Assets → Peripherals

même en créant manuellement le périphérique dans GLPI (avec VendorID, ProductID, Serial identiques), l’agent ne parvient pas à lier le périphérique existant

Le numéro de série remonté par l’agent est 001, ce qui semble inhabituel et pourrait être la source du problème.

please don't submit issue in another language than english. This won't help all the community to help you.

I moved your issue to Q&A discussion as I don't see any bug in your report.

But I still can say you it is normal your "Passport Reader Osmond" is not imported in glpi as "001" serial in blacklisted by Blacklist rules. You should even agree "001" is probably not the expected serial number.

Having a good S/N for USB devices is a recurrent problem on computers. Most of the time, the system provides a serial related to the USB bus endpoint, not to the device behind that endpoint. There's only few case where the serial is the good one, essentially for storage devices. This is definitively a USB issue to not provide a standard way to find the connected device S/N.

So for other devices, we still can implement a good S/N detection but we have to know how to find the S/N in the computer system. You probably have to ask your device manufacturer how to find it, maybe it provides a command which permits to find it in its output or store it in registry via device driver.

Thank you for your feedback and clarification regarding the blacklisted serial number issue.
As suggested, I have contacted ARH Inc. support (manufacturer of the Passport Reader Osmond device) to request guidance on how to retrieve the unique serial number of the device. I will update this thread as soon as I receive their response.
Additionally, I have checked the blacklist rules in GLPI (Setup → Blacklists), but I couldn’t find the specific entry for "001" in the serial number blacklist. To help clarify, I’m attaching screenshots of the current blacklist rules configuration.
In the meantime, I will continue investigating and testing potential solutions.

The matching rule is the one with the following regexp: /^(0|1)+$/
It means any string only composed of 0 and 1 chars will be blacklisted.

Thank you for your guidance. I identified the blacklist rule /^(0|1)+$/ as the potential cause of the issue with the Passport Reader Osmond device (serial: 001). I removed this rule, assuming it was blocking the device since it targets any string composed exclusively of 0 and 1.
However, even after removing this rule, the device still does not appear in GLPI's peripherals list. The serial number 001 is still not being imported.
