Please consider adding git tags for all future releases

Hi, I appreciate all the work that goes into maintaining this library! I noticed that releases are rarely tagged in the Git repository. Tagged releases make it easier to track changes and debug issues, especially when trying to bisect. It looks like the last tag was 1.0.0 but we're currently on 1.4.1 and there was never a tag for 0.16. Would it be possible to tag all future releases? Thanks!
