If I use GUEST PORTAL - Free WIFI with portal message (like 'Welcome to my WIFI Network' blah blah), and have a passphrase (WPA3) and portal passcode, when I connect by Android 14, I get a message saying "192.168.1.1 fail" after I type the passcode into the web portal page. Its 100% correct. If I then go back to the "Sign In to Wi-Fi" android notification, it the gives "web page not available" and you cant get out of this until you reboot the router, even if you try and connect to the guest SSID from another device. Android WIFI sign in page message (in part with example IP address): net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED If I turn off the passcode, but keep the portal message, it displays the portal message to agree to, and pressing CONTINUE button gives a "192.168.1.1 says fail" dialogue. This appears in router log for Guest Portal 'LAN IP', when 'DHCP server' enabled under 'Advanced Settings' and 29 clients allowed for subnet mask: I had previously used Guest Portal with passphrase and passcode on Asus stock firmware (older) and it worked. |

Another issue: If you have an SSID of type "IoT network", and an SSID for Guest Portal type, and you use ACCESS INTRANET and tick the other SSID, you cannot then untick the ticked SSID under Access Intranet if you then want to remove it. It stays "tattooed" which is incorrect behaviour. Fictional Example to demonstrate the issue: On AP-CAFE-CUSTOMERS SSID, I tick the box under ACCESS INTRANET for the AP-CAFE-IoT network that is listed. Upon applying the settings, both SSID's will have an entry listed under ACCESS INTRANET to show they are two way with each other. If you want to untick the association, on either SSID, the router goes through the process of applying settings taking around a minute, and then the GUI still has the SSID ticked when it should be unticked under both SSIDs. Rebooting the router does not change the broken behaviour. WORKAROUND: |

Aside from the bugs, this firmware has been working excellent on my GT-BE98 |

Just have to mention, Thanks big time for supporting GT-BE98 I upgraded from RT-AX86U, because I got 2.5gbit fiber, and while it has 2.5gbit port, it could only barely do 1.5gbit because of the CPU it seemed. And also I could not really get the 2.5gbit anywhere else, because its just 1 port. It seems like there are not many options for ASUS router in EU/Netherlands for something that can actually handle 2.5+gbit, wifi 7, wifi 6ghz and have merlin wrt. The only other option for high end I saw was GT-BE19000, which is now a lot cheaper than GT-BE98 (almost 200 euro differences), but unfortunately not supported by merlin wrt/gnuton (I wish) Then there is RT-BE92U, but that has worse cpu from what I read and I also wanted to try the more high end ones, to see if it can do better wifi Nodes in my set up (upstairs, downstairs, walls) so far so good on GT-BE98 Only I had some issues pairing my node (2x GT-BE98), not sure if thats also on stock. I already had my main router flashed with gnuton. And then when first setting it as Wireless router and then switching to AInode, it would also show a progress bar during pairing (different than when you directly set it as node on startup) Something in that way, I tried it many times, so not even sure if I remember everything correctly and not completely sure which of the things I did helped. But again, big thanks for supporting this router in this fork ❤️ |

First, I too would like to thank you for your support of gt-be98. Secondly, I have a question and a request, if you don't mind. I'm in a country that is actively engaged in blocking the internet. And we are actively engaged in countering deep packet inspection. So my request is, can you make these changes in the main repository or are there some restrictions from which it is better to include them at the kernel level with =y? And the question is that as a result of the build the final firmware is called GT-BE98_3006_102.4_0_nand_squashfs.pkgtb although I use the release code 3006_102.4_1 why is it so? |

Hi :) Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.5 final was released yesterday. I wanted to ask you when it will be available for the non-pro be98. I'm still using the Asus firmware at the moment and was waiting for a more mature release before finally switching to Gnuton. Thanks for your work :) |

Bricked BE-98. Can’t be sure it’s the firmware but keen to let people know. Had an issue. I often like to reboot routers every month or so. I rebooted via the GUI and the router has entered a permanent cycle of booting up (red led lights on top) for about 30 seconds. Then switches to green lights flashing for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes or so it then just goes back to Red light again and starts the process all over again. After an hour I gave up waiting. Tried doing hard reset (hold rest button whilst turning on at same time) and using the ASUS Firmware recovery tool. No luck. The LED lights on top turn solid purple and the firmware recovery tool reports the wireless device is not in recovery mode. Seem to have a bricked BE-98 now 😳🥹 If anyone knows of an alternative method to fix id also be eternally grateful! |

This link is alreay in the page. "Releases" do you feel like getting yet another link helping? latest was good when I had only one release. I feel like I should move 3006 to another project. (If so I can add this)
Sorry for asking an unrelated question, i remember a couple of months ago you said there was an upcoming alpha firmware for the GT-BE98, is there an ETA when it is going to be released ?

Howdy hey! A friend recommended I try this firmware for my new ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro but I wanted to make sure my device is supported. Does this support my router? Link to Manufacturer's site: https://rog.asus.com/networking/rog-rapture-gt-be98-pro/ Thank you so much for your time and effort. |
