Credentials used with Plesk

Hello,
if i wanna use Plesk as a provider, do i need normal User credentials for a Plesk user, or some kind of API credentials?
If API credentials, i can not find a user name.

The documentation says:

the username and password of the Plesk user on behalf of which the operation will be performed.
