Access the path (relative or absolute) to the open file in the editor through a task

Hello,
I would like to know if there is a way to access the absolute or relative path of a file that is open in the editor when a particular task is called. I have some file actions that need to be performed, while a particular task is being called, and this feature would help me ease the burden of finding out the file path and providing it manually.
