I wanted more visibility for managed project folders when I selected them.

I have many projects from old versions : 3, 4.1, 4.2, and now 4.3, and others from GitHub and the web.
I spent a lot of time to figure out where is and what is the project with

It would be great if I could give a custom color or icon based on my managed projects.

Moving to discussion, as there is no concrete technical implementation provided.

You can already specify project icons in the Project Settings, but you need to open the project in the editor first. If you don't want to open the editor, replace the default icon.svg file or create it if it doesn't exist (icon.png in Godot 3.x).
