vscode run and debug choses wrong types

Start debug session in VScode, look at variables:

What did you expect to see?

requiredDuration should be type time.Duration.

What did you see instead?

requiredDuration is shown as grpc type with a confusing value (actual value is 0).

• This is behavior is controlled by delve, not the extension (or gopls).
• defaultClientKeepaliveTime is a const, not a type. Delve is not incorrectly identifying the type, it is detecting (possibly incorrectly) that the value is the same as a package constant.

The value may be incorrect, and it doesn't seem like great UX/DX that delve is identifying it with an internal, unexported const in a dependency, but again that is a delve issue and not something the extension can fix.
