According to this page mentions the SDK is deprecated.

The following is a set of our previous SDK's which are no longer being actively developed:

While this repo is not being actively developed, it is not deprecated. We're still working on the next steps for the repo.

In the meantime, an active Android repo is available via https://firebase.google.com/docs/vertex-ai or https://github.com/firebase/firebase-android-sdk/tree/main/firebase-vertexai
