The newer text edit mode is so much worse than before, right?

Am I the only one that feels like the usability of the CLI is getting worse and worse.
I'm on W11 with pretty standard setup and CMD window.

1. Now you have to press CTRL + S to select text with the mouse cursor, and then it's limited to one screen.
2. Scrolling with mouse wheel is now incredibly slow, one line per tick, no other CMD window does this, it steps like 1/10 of the screen in one scroll normally. This is mega slow.
3. Pressing "up" or "down" arrow to go back in message history is much worse now than before. It's impossible to get a clean overview of messages, and it just goes up one line at a time, and doesn't stop at the top of a message, so then it jumps to the next message. There's no hotkey to go to the top/bottom of the message for this? I can't figure one out at least.

I feel like it's taking many steps backwards lately and getting much harder to work in as an editor. It still has the same issues as always with inputs behaving like a Linux terminal instead of a Windows one, on a Windows machine (like SHIFT + ENTER is not newline).

But at least CTRL + LEFT/RIGHT now skips to the next word etc.

1. We will be fixing this soon so you can select without pressing Ctrl+S. Thank you for your patience. With the fix you will be able to select back past the start of the screen and we'll be able to fix long standing issues like selection including ascii art and including line breaks that just indicate how the text was rendered and not line breaks in what was rendered. I hope to have this in the main branch in just a few days.
2. I hear you on this one. We'll be speeding up the mouse scroll speed by a default of about 5X. If you want a fast scroll wheel speed today you might want to try Ghostty. Ghostty reports a lot more scroll events so its scroll speed is great in Gemini CLI today. We'll have to be careful we don't make Ghostty too fast as we up the scroll speed.
3. This behavior hasn't changed recently so I don't believe it is related. Are you sure something has changed here? Gemini CLI has always gone through the lines in the previous messages. Agree that isn't necessarily what you want if you are just wanting to browse the history. Some tips: use ctrl-R to do a reverse search through your history.
