why does my gemini cli keep quitting and being weird when pasting from clipboard

i have gemini 0.18.4 os linux. i am ssh into linux via windows, i use bitvise program. i have npm.

like i open gemini by typing gemini. and im working and it just quits i'm not sure if its random or not. but it happens so often its driving me crazy. it happens often when it gets to an input. but i have interactiv eshell turned to false.

it doesnt even give me a chance to put an answer, it gets to a promtp and just quits.

and when i like ctrl-c from my windows and ctrl-v to the terminal screen it often pastes like repeated lines over and over.

note that claude code works just fine on the same system connecting the same way.

i'd like to try gemini cli and use the new models

also i tried just now the built in windows ssh and it also nopes out when it gets to a menu.
