Just in case this helps anyone still getting 429's with "You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details." I needed to "Link a billing account" from the Wasn't obvious to me from the README |

I just saw commit 3ebf54f Does this mean we can now subscribe to Gemini Code Assist to prevent being automatically downgraded to the Flash model? |

Wow! It's been a full and exciting 24 hours for Gemini CLI. We're humbled to see hundreds of thousands of you getting started and over 28,000 new stars here on GitHub.
We also want to apologize for the 429 (resource exhausted) errors some of you hit in the first hours of availability. We believe we identified the root cause, and the fix is expected to roll out to 100% of traffic over the next few hours.
In addition to that, we've landed lots of other bug fixes and improvements. We encourage everyone to update to the latest release (v0.1.5) to get the most stable experience.
The pace isn't slowing down anytime soon! A huge thank you for the incredible support. Please continue to submit your ideas, questions, and bug reports right here on GitHub—we're excited to build this with you all. ❤️
