Anyone could really use gemini cli?

After trying to use it everyday since official launch i finalled uninstalled, constant crashs, failures to edit files, infinite loadings, only gemini flash, i couldnt do anything at all so far, thus the question, anyone could really use this? it looks to me the release was way too rushed, this is not ready to any kind of release yet.

Yeah Gemini CLI itself has teething issues. But i am still using it as a companion and wrapped it into a Gemini CLI MCP server which I add to Claude Code. This way I can use Claude Code for execution of tasks but allows Claude Sonnet 4/Opus 4 to work with Gemini 2.5 models for code generation reviews/planning etc https://github.com/centminmod/gemini-cli-mcp-server :)

Hopefully, Gemini CLI improves over time 😃

Testing yours now, having spontaneously commented about the idea itself in #3316 (comment). One of the Gemini CLI benefits (or OpenInterpreter, etc. ones) nowadays is that one can ask Gemini about such a code, about its code bases, and: if somebody be very lazy, just "click" yes, no, maybe, why so?, convince me first, find another way... etc.

@cleitongia We do have lots of customers using it successfully. (Personally, I've been able to accomplish some useful and even complex personal projects - my favorite is a go library for building webapps that look like terminal apps), and we use it to help build the cli itself. I definately want it to work for you. If you feel up to it, try again and post here (or email me keithballinger @ google) and I'm happy to investigate. Sorry this has been frustrating...

It works for me... for 25 minutes, then 6 million input tokens used... wondering why it's using so many ;)

I ran into an issue on second day after Gemini cli was released and the issue was fixed in the next release a few hours later. Haven't had any major issues since.
