How do i get rid of the unused space at the right side of the terminal?

i usually prefer a much smaller terminal size but i realize this program really needs a bigger one, but the issue is not all of the space at the right section of the screen is used which is quite annoying

i tried making the terminal window smaller but the program just made itself smaller to make that space empty again, increasing font size didn't help either

ok that kinds of work at certain zoom levels (font sizes) but it's inconsistent and still too big of a font size for my taste
