Vertical alignment and kerning issues with Vietnamese diacritics in traditional altar descriptions

I am developing a digital catalog for traditional Vietnamese altars (Bàn Thờ) at https://vach-ngan.com/. While using Google Fonts (specifically Roboto and Playfair Display), I noticed that the Vietnamese diacritics (dấu tiếng Việt) on specific words like "Bàn Thờ", "Gỗ Gụ", and "Canh Nậu" are not vertically aligned correctly when displayed in bold headers.

Hello @sonvu989, thank you for your report. Are you talking about this?

For Roboto, I can report the issue in their repo. For Playfair Display, I advice you to use Playfair, which is more recent, and doesn't seem to have the diacritics issue (it has an optical size, so you can find the weight, optical size you want).
