I have a Chinese generic xbox controller with usb connection to arch linux and I would like to connect the controller to model-viewer so I can control the 3d model with a game controller.

Is that possible?

Yes, you'll just need to write event handlers for your controller and make them adjust cameraOrbit and such. I'm considering adding hooks to trigger our default motions to make this kind of thing a bit easier.
