Browser support

I'm aware of the name of the repo 😄 , but it would be nice to have direct support for the browser
without a polyfill for Buffer.

Looking at the code it seems that Buffer is only used for base64 encoding/decoding
of binary arrays, something that browser-friendly libraries like https://www.npmjs.com/package/base64-js do well.

Are there any plans? Is this something that you would be open to?

Note that we'd be happy to submit a PR that replaces Buffer usage with base64-js (same module that the Buffer polyfill uses)

@lorensr @antlai-temporal I'm completely fine with that if it does not affect the main use case (something in lines of if (typeof Buffer === 'undefined'), or something like I did a few years ago here. PRs welcome :)
