export GRASPIT=~/.graspit

hi ,I'm new to graspIT!
I have encountered this problem
Could not open /home/well/.graspit/models/objects/flask.xml
but if I change  export GRASPIT=~/.graspit  to export  GRASPIT=~/graspit ,  it's ok!
Am I wrong with this operation?
