Programs running from SD card don't complete

It seems the programs running from SD card doesn't complete some times. It just stops reading few lines (100 to 200 in my case) and goes in IDLE mode. This doesn't happen always but it has good ratio. In my case out of 2 incidents, 1 will close program halfway keeping spindle and coolant ON and goes in IDLE mode (as it doesnt' read last few lines of making them Off. Doesn't read M30 as well). I am not sure from which time it started but I can tell approx 4-6 months. Here I attach a small program in which this happens. There are several other programs in which this happens so I am not doubting on that side. Also the same program works well on the earlier versions of firmware.

I have run your program to completion ten times or so without issues on a STM32F407 based controller.
Is the firmware you use created with the Web Builder?

I use Teensy4.1 based custom board. I compile from source using VS Code and PlatformIO. I forked from latest code yesterday only. In my previous clone also, this issue happened but somehow I was not sure it can be due to SD library but now I feel this can be the reason. I have come across this issue since 2-4 months only IIRC.

Just got to know that when I issue $F= after such "IDLE" state to restart the program, it doesn't take any command, but if I feedhold and resume, it completes the remaining program. Some time this needs to be done 3 to 4 times to complete the program.

Do you use my patched version of the SD card library?
And can you try with a Web Builder build on a bare Teensy board with default settings?

I just clone recursively. Don't know if it fetches patched version. I will try it though. Let me check with web builder build too. Will reply here soon.

Build from web builder for T41BB5X Pro works well. It didn't allow me to build with OLED display enable which broke compilation then I disabled it and compiled successfully. It works as expected.

It does not, and I do not know if it is possible to add it as a git submodule.
There is a small chance that VSCode fetches the original?

Different from what?
The files matches the repo. I split out fs_stream.* from sdcard.* a while back to allow streaming from other file systems when SD card/FatFS is not available.

Then VSCode may be the culprit? Try overwriting the SD card library with the patched version?

Ok I was confused between uSDFS and Plugin_SD_card. Should I download zip from this repo (Plugin_SD_card) and paste it unzipped in grblhal_teensy4>src>sdcard overwriting all other files?

No, I am referring to the uSDFS library - it provides the actual FatFS implementation that is used for SD card access. grblhal_teensy4>src>sdcard is for the SD card plugin, which, BTW, should be renamed since the functionality it provides is no longer limited to SD card access...

Ok. But I am still unclear about where to paste it. Ther is no folder named uSDFS in src directory. Sorry I couldn't understand clearly.

I do not know where VSCode/PlatformIO puts library code. IIRC the Arduino IDE puts it in the same folder as the grblHAL repo.
The Web Builder also has it in the same folder:

I have overwritten the library found (iMXRT1062/grblHAL_Teensy4/.pio/libdeps/teensy41/uSDFS) but no success. I can see that the library is automatically fetched from your patched link as in platform.ini file following lines are written:
lib_deps =
https://github.com/grblHAL/teensy41_ethernet
https://github.com/grblHAL/uSDFS
I think it is fetching right library but the issue remains same after compiling. Any clues?

Ok. It looks like changing following line in platformio.ini file:
platform = ${common_teensy.platform}@4.16
to
platform = https://github.com/platformio/platform-teensy.git#v4.16.0
solves the problem. In my earlier compilations I used to use this line but somehow I forgot it completely.
Still I have not tested rigorously. I am not at work today and I have a bare board with normal 128MB SD card where I tested. I will test it tomorrow on actual machine board with 32GB class 10 memory card where it is supposed to run as expected. I will post here once I confirm this.
