DJV 3 - Feature request - TIMELINE THUMBNAILS = OFF should still show playhead, time and cache meters

When TIMELINE THUMBNAILS = OFF, I think it is still important to know

a) where you are in the file (visual representation from playhead and time)
b) the visual representation of the video and audio cache

There is some, for me, odd dependency:
I have assigned Timeline to shortcut "T". When TIMELINE > THUMBNAILS = ON and pressing "T" I see no playhead. When TIMELINE > THUMBNAILS = OFF, I get the playhead ...

So, THUMBNAILS not only removes video thumbnails and audio waveform (which is plausible), but also the playhead.

I'm confused, the current time and cache are displayed when thumbnails are off, like your screenshot.

I was not very clear, the screenshot shows the desired result.

Setup to reproduce:

DO:

• TIMELINE > THUMBNAILS = ON (size does not matter)
• WINDOW > TIMELINE = OFF

HAPPEN:

• no timeline, no thumbs

For me a timeline is a playhead and cache visualization independent from the thumbnails.

I agree there is a certain kind of logic (as outlined by you in #700 (comment)), but I am pretty sure the user expects the playhead and cache visualization still to be present.

The thumbnails are not independent though, they are an integral part of the timeline. If you load an OpenTimelineIO file with multiple clips they show the boundaries between the clips. If you turn off "Timeline/Minimize" you can see the timeline more like a NLE, with multiple tracks and clips, with the thumbnails either on or off.
