[Feature Request] Improve UI/UX for some devices. (eink. small tablet ...)

• Markor installed from F-Droid (and dev test fav Marder)

• device:
  • Eink 8" tablet
  • Android 11 based OS

Context is that I use Markor on different devices, including an small Eink tablet.
Markor is quite good on eink but there could be some improvements. Some of those could also benefit other cases (Small tablet,...).

• Colorscheme (most obvious, a dedicated theme/colorscheme): a Black on White colorscheme throughout the app, and more specifically for the Bars (App Bar,...)
  For syntax highlighting it is ok with variable size headings in editor; the coloschemes is more for the app UI element, pure white background and black text for View mode (like in Edit) could be nice though.
• AppBar (this is more contextual): on my tablet I use Markor to open txt/md file from file manager some (Ghost Commander, Amaze FM) open files in split screen (vertical, below) and in this context the Top/App bar take quite some vertical space
  It would be nice to either have a setting for a compact bar with reduce height (I understand that may not follow Material) or even a setting to hide the App bar (in Edit/View mode), with the gesture setting for switching Edit/View mode it would remain usable.
  Now to make it even better, the App Bar could be hidden contextually when Markor is not in full screen for example (via a setting) but I am not an Android dev so I don't no if it is too complicate to do.

Thanks again for this "simple" yet so useful. app. (quite fast on eink compare to others for example).

Note: the issues and discussions that came out via search focus mainly on the Tools/Bottom bar which is of least concern to me (take less space and clear unobtrusive background), it could be interesting to hide it eventually though.

I am looking at the theming. I have seen the recent change for Day/Night theme compatibility.
The way to add and handle new theme isn't clear to me (I understand there is no custom theme feature) but i will continue testing.
One aspect that is difficult is how to add a theme to settings and "activate it", is it even possible beyond Day-Unified/Night-Dark? If a theme (light-eink. light-white. light-highcontrast) with corresponding colors.xml is added I could configure and test for the proper colors. it should be able to modify some primary colors like for ex dark__primary_text which are used throughout UI and if it is may be better not to touch that.

Another way. could be to do it via style.xml especially since we mainly need to point to @color/black and @color/white for eink theming. The problem being that it is not possible to modify for ex dark__primary_text this way (something like <item name="dark__primary_text">@color/black</item> isn't allowed and also counter logical regarding what dark__primary_text represent). The proper way seems to replace it (throughout the code), and others, with an item that could be set in styles.xml like colorPrimary. This then would point to dark__primary_text by default in AppTheme.Unified or to @color/black in the proper new theme/style.
