cleaning cache without removing directory

Regarding cache, how to cleanup cache without removing the directory ?

tinc purge maybe ?

Does deleting the folder also remove the cache in the tinc process?

My case :

I remove the cache folder before starting tinc. If tinc is disconnected, he will try to connect on unwanted address... So my question is , if I remove cache folder each time tinc disconnect, will it help ?
