QR Formats support

Summary

There are several QR Code formats standardized by ISO/IEC and other organizations.
Currently, this library supports the standard QR Code Model 2, which covers the most common use cases.

However, there are additional standardized formats that could be considered for broader support, such as:

• Micro QR Code — Compact version for small markings (ISO/IEC 18004)
• rMQR Code — Rectangular Micro QR, optimized for narrow spaces (ISO/IEC 23941)
• GS1 QR Code — QR with FNC1 and structured data for logistics and retail use (GS1 System)

Non-standard proprietary formats like FrameQR or iQR are excluded due to licensing and patent restrictions.

Discussion

Would there be actual demand for supporting formats beyond Model 2, especially rMQR or Micro QR Code?
Use cases like narrow labels, PCB markings, or industrial parts might benefit — but in general consumer use, Model 2 covers nearly everything.

Feedback on whether such support would be valuable is appreciated.
