Generates tool names that are over 64 character limit in Claude Desktop

While the actual MCP specification does not appear to specify a maximum length, one would think that the people writing Claude Desktop would know how it is supposed to work.

Perhaps there should be an option to automatically limit tool names to a default of 64 characters. The first random OpenAPI specification I tried (Todoist API) had 6 operations with names that were too long.

Could you please confirm whether this issue is present in all MCP clients, including VS Code, Cursor, Windsurf, or any others?

I can confirm there's also a 64 character limit on Google's ADK agent-building tool
