Wireguard status? What's next? is there anything i can help with/contribute?

Really want to get wireguard up and running. Looked through the code so far. Says it's only working for PIA currently, but i assume i could also mount my own .conf within image to test? Is there a roadmap for development for that branch? i didn't see one but would be happy to try and help. It's a feature i've been wanting for a long time.
