Cannot install submodules/diff-surfel-rasterization

Hello everyone, I would like to test out the package on a sample dataset. I am currently using the Windows setup recommended in the Nerfstudio installation instructions. When following your readme I get stuck in the installation of the submodule diff-surfel-rasterization with the following error.

My current guess is that it could be related to a different version of setuptools package, but I am not able to figure out how to fix it. I tried to switch between version setuptools-69.5.1 and setuptools-70.0.0 with no success.
