Help Execute Script :-(

Hello,

First of all, thank you for this which will undoubtedly allow me to better interact with my Siemens devices :-)
Currently I'm connected with their API but the daily limit is quite annoying. I prefer local anyway...

I'd like to install hcpy on my Home Assistant and generate the devices.json file.

I'm trying to run the script on my PC (Win 10) using Python and the instructions, but I must admit I'm a real novice...

After trying to install lots of things I don't know about :-( I run this in a “cmd” window:

But I have a problem with OpenSSL or SSpsk... I think the script is calling a lib from OpenSSL 1.0.2 when it doesn't exist anymore... I can't install an older version either. Here's where I'm at and can't get any further.

sslpsk is only required if using python under 3.13.

If you upgrade python you shouldn't need to compile sslpsk

That said I haven't tried it in windows... 😅

thanks :-) All night and day and hadn't noticed I was using Python 3.12 instead of 3.13.

So the script ran smoothly this time until the end.

However, I thought it would create a devices.json file, but I can't find it.

I found 2 files generated in the temporary directory: origin.json and paho_mqtt-1.6.1-py3-none-any.whl
Should I use origin.json and rename it devices.json?

And if so, what should I do next? I know it's clearly indicated in the explanations, but I confess I don't understand everything :-(

I think you have just installed the python requirements and not started the login process

python hc-login.py config/devices.json

This step is a little complex the first paragraph talks about how you will need to use chrome or similar to capture the Auth tokens https://github.com/hcpy2-0/hcpy?tab=readme-ov-file#authenticate-to-the-cloud-servers

The %3D is decoded by the script anyway so it shouldn't matter which way its input.

Because its challenge/response you must use the URL that is generated by the script to capture the response. A previous copy/paste will fail.

Does https://github.com/bruestel/homeconnect-profile-downloader work for you at all? It gives the wrong format for us but would indicate if there is something related to your account that causes it to fail.

I might look at changing the input to the full hcauth URL as it will be less prone to copy and paste errors....

The script tries both EU and US regions so it shouldn't matter about the region select. How long is it taking you to attempt to Auth? I haven't investigated how long the challenge is valid for but could perhaps only be valid for 60s...

It takes me much more time. (Type the mail address and 2 times the password with extraction of the code and state...)
... I also didn't know that time mattered.

I now saved the logins in the browser and speed up all on my side and now it worked 👍

Without you i will not find the progress. I got it :-)

Also a little thing i see. In Chromium/developper Tool in the tab Headers the last character of code was missing if you stopped before the "%3", In the Payload tab, an extra character was displayed. This gave me the devices.json file and recognized my 5 Siemens devices :-)

Now I just have to figure out what to do with Home Assistant's Add on :-)
