Stupid question: controls while running picframe

Ok, this is dumb, but... I have picframe auto running on a pi3, with dietpi as the os. I want to exit the frame software so I can work on the OS (I had remote access setup but it stopped working..). Are there any keyboard commands which I can use to exit picframe and get back to the command prompt?

If I haven't set up the keyboard interface beforehand I usually do Ctrl Alt F4 to open a new terminal, then systemctl --user stop picframe.service NB check what I actually type, this is from memory, I do this frequently enough to always Ctrl-R and search for system.. I usually switch back to Ctrl Alt F1 to mess around and restart the systemctl systemctl --user start picframe.service

This works on the default OS, don't know about dietpi, let us know what happens.
