How to create add Go HTML templates to LSP?

Helix's LSP has a general purpose gotmpl for LSP. But I want to make one specific for HTML, something that:

• Syntax highlight both the HTML file and the {{}} content
• Formats both HTML and Go template language inside {{}}

How do I achieve that?

This is what I tried without success:

You can try something like this, it should give you highlighting and lsp support for both gotmpl and html:

in your languages.toml:

[[language]]
name = "gotmpl"
file-types = ["gohtml"]
language-servers = ["gopls", "vscode-html-language-server"]

And then in ~/.config/helix/runtime/queries/gotmpl/injections.scm:

((text) @injection.content
 (#set! injection.language "html")
 (#set! injection.combined))

Thank you, I'll give it a try. scm isn't something I find easy to use. So you know where those queries are documented?

They're mentioned in Helix release notes, and are documented in tree-sitter docs. Basically, what you need to do is to select some text and then use tree-sitter-subtree Helix command to see the tree itself to understand how your specific query should look like. In the example above (text) is a node containing HTML code within the go template.

Sorry to necro-bump this, but are you actually getting LSP features from vscode-html-language-server in your tmpl files? I made a post here describing my situation in detail, however, regarding your solution I tried implementing it exactly but none of the vscode LSP functionality works in the tmpl file. It does give syntax highlighting but no LSP functionality like hover or formatting.
