Louder visual indication that multiple cursors are active

I've made the same mistake many times now of forgetting that I have multiple cursors and then typing what appears to be a benign input, only to realize much later that I have made edits to locations that were not visible while I was typing.

I think this problem would be mostly solved by having a different color of cursor when there are multiple cursors. That would make it obvious to me. But I would love to hear other UX ideas!
