Alt modifier doesn't work

Hello everybody,

System: MacOS 14.6.1 (23G93)
Keyboard: Italian(QWERTY), but also tried USA, GB and others
Terminal: iTerm2
Shell: zsh
Helix version: helix 24.7 (079f544)

I've a problem with the key modifier ALT, it simply doesn't work.
I've tried changing keyboard layouts on system preferences and in iTerm settings, but nothing seems to work, any suggestion?
