Toggle documentation in insert mode

Hi
To prevent the XY problem:
I did not like that in insert mode if I dont want the signature I would press cntr C to hide it but then after typing in a char it would pop back up. (is that intended?)
So I set auto-signature-help to false but now I cant toggle the signature while in insert mode - or can I but I dont know how?

I have set

[keys.insert]
C-p = "signature_help"

So you can press Ctrl+P in insert mode to show the signature
