Help needed: Persist previous search query in file picker

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to persist the previous search query in the file picker.

Currently, when I open the file picker, it always starts with an empty search field. I'd like it to remember my last search string when reopening the picker, so I can refine or continue it without retyping.

Is there a built-in way to achieve this?

If not, could this be considered for a future feature?
