Release schedules and planning

I've seen here and on the website that there is no mention of a release schedule. Is there any plans to add one?

In that same note, if there is no release schedule, how are new releases planned? Are they more stable than other versions? Any major differences from the other versions?

I've just seen some stuff (like the tree file picker) and wanted to try, but I don't have the time for building this whole project.

That doesn't really answer it, as there is no way to know what is "enough changes" for them and how many "few releases per year" would even be, that's just a big mess to me
