Why not have inline diagnostics enabled as the default for the next release?

I am not sure why it is still off by default? The documentation says The new diagnostic rendering is not yet enabled by default., so when will it be?

@archseer were just discussing this. We should enable it by default but the right defaults for the severities should be discussed. Hint for end-of-line diagnostics seems sane but I have cursor-line ones set to error which is debatable. So I'd like to enable it right after this release and then work out the right severities over the next release window.

yeah it is tough to figure out, like i have cursor-line and other-lines both set to hint

I have merged #13970 with end-of-line diagnostics set to hint and cursor-line diagnostics set to warning as we were recommending in the docs previously. We can adjust from there. I consider other-lines to be quite noisy: you can lose a lot of space from informational diagnostics.

Maybe we can introduce a default binding to toggle severities so that we can keep the default towards error but make it easy to downgrade to a lower severity to see a helpful message.

Currently end-of-line diagnostic can't be shown when cut off. Scroll view mode cannot reveal the truncated text. Is this has an issue to track on? or already been solved?
