Dump macros as config strings

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if it was possible to dump a macro previously recorded into a string compatible with thoses used in the config.toml ?

My current situation :

• Have recorded a complicated macro using Ctrl+Q
• Used this macro multiple times and it work well
• Want to keep this macro for future use
• Dont want to replay or translate the macro manually to put it in the config.toml

Is it possible ?

You can paste out the contents of a register by selecting the register with "<reg> and then p. By default this pastes the default yank register " but you can select others like % for example (current document path). Macros are stored in the @ by default, so you can use "@p in normal mode to paste the last recorded macro anywhere

Did not even considered that it could simply work like this !

And by any chance is there a way to have the content of the buffer properly exited to be stored between specific delimiters ?
Because currently, the content of the macro buffer can't always be used as is in the config.toml.
In my case my macro contains " characters which mess with the quoted format expected in the config.toml if not escaped.
If not it's no big deal I'll add the extras \ by hand in the string dumped from the macro but if it exists I would be very happy to know x)

There isn't anything automatic for escaping. It would be hard to have something like that be automatic since you can paste registers anywhere
