If it is a good application then it has to embrace change for the good. There's so many things that I just don't feel right with vim. If it had to stay alive then why keep old colorschemes and never update them, why stick with vimscript, and why have settings that people are most likely to change or add(setting line numbering or relative numbering by default) or why stay away from implementing the little things that people are most likely to use but are usually implemented by plugins only(existence of compulsory plugins like vim-surround, etc.)
I just wish these kind of things don't happen with helix and most importantly favoring one thing over the beneficial one just because of sentiments. Overall, I've been loving all of the development that helix has been doing and they're already doing a great job it was just a thing that I needed to discuss.
