Help setting rulers + cursor colors

Hi, I'm struggling to make rulers the same color as the current line while overriding github_dark theme 🥲
Specifically I can't keep the cursor colors (fg & bg) the same when it's on the ruler and when it's not.

Here's the situation when the cursor is just before the ruler (over the i):

autum theme seems to work as I would like my override to work.

The configuration in all the screenshots is the complete override of github_dark.

I searched through the open/closed issues & discussions but I didn't find anything helpful 😞
The closest thing I got is this issue #3599
