Many people suggest implementing easymotion/amp-jump/vim-sneak/follow-mode. That would be a great enhancement for sure, but most people will find themselves easier with the accelerated-jk approach, where pressing j or k for a few seconds makes them skip lines and scroll the text faster.
Once installed some years ago, I found myself using it continuously as it is much more intuitive than learning new keymaps.
