How to keep / maintain register selection?

I saved a macro to register c and I want to repeatedly apply that macro.

Then, I have to keep selecting register c over and over, ("cq, "cq, "cq, ...) because each time I press q to apply the macro, the register selection goes back to the default register.

How to keep register selection so I could do something like "cqqqqq...?
