Let me know here if people are experiencing any major issues with the redesign. It's working well for me, except on mobile a bit janky.

Just wanted to thank all the users who have offered their opinion so far, it's been very interesting to see people's reactions. If you're dropping by, I encourage everyone to share their thoughts. As I mentioned below, if a substantial proportion of users are not enjoying the new "experience(s)", I'm happy to change course, and I've already introduced a number of modifications. I also encourage people to try to articulate their opinion - the new designs are obviously a deliberate deviation from "normal" list-y-ness. Even a single convincing statement as to why the new design is functionally flawed would probably suffice to convince me to change or revert it.

Hey, don't want to sound rude, but this redesign makes it really hard to navigate and find stuff.
It looks overdesigned, its really hard to scan visually.

Appreciate this repo and registry but this makes it really hard to use.

the design is great but egregious for usability which is typically what these awesome list resources are for. thoughts on a toggle/filter or moving the designs to a web page

def went more for aesthetic flair/fun than usability - ideally would be able to achieve both but for one thing the text is mostly SVG now which is not searchable so that's problematic.

more likely i would move to a secondary README.md in-repo. part of the fun is trying to see what can i do working within the confines of a README (no JS, limited CSS, etc.).

A README should look like a README and not like a loading screen of some game. Design needs major revamp. Please.

I don't mean to roast. Like many others, I appreciate this resource and would love for it to garner more attention and credibility*.

perhaps take some inspiration from lists on page 1 on the awesome topic https://github.com/topics/awesome (>50k stars). notice how their designs relate to their purpose

thanks again for the feedback, it's nice to hear from visitors to the list! i would love to know more about what people would like in terms of curation and presentation, so this is really great.

i won't try to dispute your comments, because they are totally valid and correct, and i know this is not "awesome-list protocol." but i would like people to understand my intention, which is to do some creative experimentation, because that's interesting to me, and possibly to others. if it's providing a bad experience to the reader, then that's something i'll have to adjust to - of course i maintain this list in order to serve the needs of other developers. so that's why your feedback is so valuable. that being said, i'm not interested in doing things a certain way just in order to conform to existing norms, and one shouldn't assume that the purpose of every "list" repo is the same.

I have more thoughts and questions, but I don't want to give the impression of being argumentative or defensive, I really want to encourage as many people to give their opinion, so I'll leave it at that for now, your comments are very appreciated.

I find the readme is really-really hard to read, I dont know if its because Im using some adblockers etc that breaking the css styling or its designed in this way, It could be very helpful, if its just pure markdown based

thanks @azataiot sorry to hear that - it's definitely not adblockers or CSS because there are no ads on github and basically no CSS either - only a few HTML/basic CSS things that some browsers don't support well maybe - also I'm finding the github app is not rendering it so well, but there's nothing but github-flavored markdown and SVG. i'd be interested to know some more about your environment, but either way it's good to know, thanks. i hope you're enjoying the ticker(??) 🙃 . maybe the best way to learn about what users want is to break the page 🤣 no of course that's not my goal. How do I even use any of the projects? It is so difficult to even understand. What's the aim of this project - To showcase awesome CC plugins/projects and lead users to them or to only showcase the plugins/projects?

For example:
I click on the code-analysis plugin graphic and it takes me to https://github.com/kingler/n8n_agent/blob/main/.claude/commands/code_analysis.md

What is this? How does a user use this? What's the awesome CC plugin/project here?

hey @AJ ! sorry for the confusion, thanks for chiming in. awesome-claude-code is not itself a plugin or marketplace or anything, it's just a list of... well, "awesome" things that other people have built. one challenge with maintaining an awesome-list is making sure that all the resources are in good standing and continue to provide value. In this case, it looks like code_analysis should be a slash-command, which should really be a markdown file like the other files in that directory. from the looks of it, it seems that this project has not been updated in 7 months (since "initial commit") so this might be a good notification that i ought to remove it, as it appears not to be maintained.

I've set up a github action to start alerting me when projects are not getting updated in a long time - especially for claude code, this is probably a bad sign - so thanks for letting me know. maybe browse around at a few other of the links and let me know if it makes a little more sense? or feel free to let me know if it still doesn't make sense! i really love to hear from users, so thank you, i hope you find some value here.

This redesign is extremely unreadable and completely unnecessary, please just make the classic the default and include links to this version if you want to look at it, this should under no circumstances be the default.
