Providing voice feedback to your Claude Code agent! Get instant audio notifications for tool usage, prompts, git commits, and session events.

Validate Claims

Install the hooks and start a new Claude session. You will start hearing different sounds, like you will hear the Mario opening sound on session start and human sounds on different hooks.

how much time does it usually takes for approvals?

@shanraisshan thanks for sharing this! i guess by "approval" you mean that I add it to the list(?)

For complicated resources it can take a while for me to evaluate the resource - for a hook that provides audio notifications, it probably wouldn't take very long (and also I like these kinds of things 😄 ). That being said, I can't make any guarantees at the moment, so make sure you stay up to date with the information in the CONTRIBUTING doc. for the time being: i would revise the description to conform to the recommended style of the list (descriptive - basically I would remove the exclamation mark for one thing, use something like "Provides instant audio notifications..." (describes the resource) vs "Get instant audio notifications..." (a message speaking TO the reader).) Hope that helps. cheers!

@shanraisshan Thank you for your patience. Let me reiterate that there is no queue and no turns. But, you seem eager to get feedback on your project, which is great because it means you like it a lot. So I'll give you some feedback of my initial impression. I like the Mario sounds and the fun aspect of it. That enhances my experience in a fun way. But I also don't feel like Claude is talking back to me, as you imply. What I hear is a human voice reciting the events like notification, session start, etc. I don't hear Claude's actual response. So I think that would be a nice thing to have. I'm not sure I want a voice notification saying out loud the names of the hooks. Maybe you could tell me a little more about how this helps you in your workflow? Maybe this could be used as an accessibility tool(?)

I'm happy to discuss these things and maybe there is a lot of value that I don't see right away. But please don't have expectations that there is a line of submissions and when it's your turn you get promoted on the list. I don't operate that way, but I do like talking to people about their projects. Do you have any plans for how to develop this project? Are you working on other things? It's ok if you don't want to chat but I'm trying to be real with you.

When running long tasks (1-2 hours) across multiple projects, audio notifications let you work elsewhere without constantly checking terminals. You hear ding-dong patterns while Claude works, distinct alerts when permission is needed, and a agent-stopped sound when agent stopped working on your task. Your ears monitor Claude's status so your eyes and mind stay focused on other work — turning passive waiting into productive multitasking. This is how its benefiting me in my daily life workflows.

i think it's a good library but it has some overlap with a few existing resources (example) - however, the library i just cited doesn't appear to be super-maintained so i'm going to just leave this open for now. if you want more detailed feedback feel free to send me an email, i hope you keep working on it. 👍🏽
