Terminal performance extremely slow in longer conversations #39

I’m running into a really annoying issue: my terminal is getting slower and slower the more I use it. At first, it’s fine, but as the conversation gets longer, typing becomes a nightmare. Delay between pressing a key and seeing the letter appear on the screen is up to several seconds.

I’m not sure what’s causing it—maybe it’s because I’m running Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi, or maybe it’s Claude Code rendering issues. Either way, it’s making things almost unusable.

Has anyone else run into this? Any tips or fixes?

P.S. Maybe if one can access Claude Code under Home Assistant remotely via e.g. SSH could it be a solution?
P.P.S. it is starting to get slower with 2K-3K lines and if you paste long files into the chat it can become unbearable. In my case it was 6K lines when I exported the conversation. Maybe this can be avoided by compacting the context or starting new conversation after initial analysis.
