Feature request - generate simulated battery use data from historical import/export power data

Hi,

A cool feature would be to introduce an "installation date" and use existing historical data from energy import and export to generate simulated use from the installation date until now.
E.g. I have import/export power data from last year, and using that it should be possible to generate battery charge from exported/injected power, and battery discharge from imported/consumed power.
That way you could get useful simulated data, without the need to wait e.g. a whole year (from the moment you installed the integration) to calculate simulated battery activity...

That would be a good feature. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do that. It would need to be detailed data - like every import and export every few minutes, I don't think most people store that level of detail in home assistant as the db gets too big. Daily or even hourly totals don't wouldn't work for the simulation.

I'm using a Homewizard P1 meter through the official integration and by default it seems to log consumption/injection data at intervals of minimum 1 Watt, which vary in time (relative to consumption/injection). With higher consunption/injection this seems to go down to a minimum of 1 log every 5 seconds, while low or no consumption causes less log entries (i.e only when there is actual consumption).
I created a standalone application that takes the quarter hour data of Fluvius, the Belgian net operator, to simulate battery usage.
Perhaps you can do something similar by taking the diff for the sensor value between time x and time x + 15 minutes, and calculate the corresponding kWh value.
E.g. 100W consumption during 15 minutes (= 1/4 of an hour) means 100/4 = 25Wh = 0.025kWh
I'm not familiar with programming for HA, so can't help you there at the moment...

It is a good idea and it is certainly possible to integrate the data over time as you say - that is essentially how the battery sim works. The trouble is that within home assistant I don't think such detailed information is stored for more than about 2 weeks depending on the ocnfiguration. Even if your meter reads regularly that data isn't necessarily stored because the internal database in homeassistant would rapidly become too large.

You're right, it looks like long term statistics only store data for 1 hour intervals...
There might be a way to configure this to a higher resolution (e.g. every quarter), but it's too late for that now...
