Release the next version as 1.12.0

This is just a request for your next release.

My team is using your library and we have several dependency scanners which see that we're using v0.12.0 of your library and they all think that the latest version of the library is "1.11.1-PUBLISHED-BY-MISTAKE".

We can easily suppress the notifications for this one library, however we won't get update notifications if the next version of the library is not higher than 1.11.1.

So seeing as you didn't remove 1.11.1, could you please release the next version with "1" as major? That way we're sure we'll be notified of your next release.

Note: This should probably be updated to have the next release be 2.x.x to reflect the jakarta + jdk v11 major changes

Is the repository pretty much abandoned? People seem to be using this repo but there hasn't been a update in years. There are some commits after 0.12.0 but no sign of a new version.

My plan is to release a 2.3.6 to align w/ the underlying JAXB version. This will also align w/ the maven-jaxb2-plugin plans
