Limit number of Workspaces (enhancement)

I couldn't find it as a feature or a suggestion.
Is there a plan to limit the number of workspaces per user? Could you implement it? I could imagine someone "killing" workspaces by running ws_allocate in a job.

For us, 'global' would be sufficient, since we currently only have one storage unit. Would this mean that each storage would get the same limit? For example, 5 WS for Storage 1 and 5 WS for Storage 2?
However, it could make sense to have different limits, e.g. one for standard storage and one for special storage, if you only wanted to allow one archive, for example. Any limit would be great, just choose the least complex approach.

Hi Holger,

Do you have a timeline for v2? We use Weka with directory quotas. Unfortunately, I can only set the default quota for the root directory of the workspaces, e.g. 5 TB per workspace. However, users can create 100 workspaces, thus using up 500 TB of storage.

I would say weeks, depending on courage. If you want to test carefully and want to give feedback, you could test it (as a secondary installation) now. At the moment there is mainly adding some minor features and testing and bug fixing going on.
the expirer is the thing I would not use as of today - except in dryrun mode, as this is the thing that eats the data. But I am testing it at the moment and the coming days with real world databases and compare behaviour with the old one.
I guess after easter there will be something like a release candidate which would qualify for wider field tests.
